Happy Paw-A-Days from us Fluffy Puppies...wOOf...wOOf...

Our Christmas portraits...I just love my brother Oscar and sister Lucy so much! We hang out together all day, sniff and smell things, bark at peeps, and chase squirrels and birds. What a great life we live! That's me sticking out my tongue for the camera.  I forgot to mention we also like to dig in the yard. We have three holes where we all take turns laying and then we walk back in the house and track red dirt mud paw prints on the white carpet. Our humans just love when we do that!

Christmas is coming soon, time to dress the kids in their proper holiday attire just like these lil children at the zoo. I think my human has something up her sleeve as far as my attire goes. Great, another bell ringin' collar perhaps...crap! wOOf...wOOf...~Eddie

Mountain Lion
WILDLIFE REPORT: 6am saw a sick Mountain Lion walk across the street from the house into the neighbor's Redwood Trees. Fish & Game showed up @ 9am and found it's tracks and an area where it was laying under the trees. The Game Warden recommend that those of us in the area should keep our dogs and/or cats inside at night. The Lions come down a little after Sunset and just before Sunrise. Same with Coyotes as they are looking for a meal.  This sighting was in the Mary Lake Subdivision.

4:10AM WILDLIFE REPORT: Ok so my human was takin' out the trash this morning with her coffee in hand. I know this cuz I was watchin' out the window with my lil nozzle on the window seal (I was pissed she wouldn't let me outside yet) and as she was standing next to the garage (there is a big green leafy thing there) she was leisurely sippin' what you peeps call coffee and something moved 2 feet from her feet. Next thing I see, she is hauling ass back into the garage. There were three raccoons in that green leafy thing and she scared them, they scared her and two of them dove into the storm drain. The third one is now walking towards me but outside. Happy Howl-O-Ween has started! wOOf...wOOf...~Eddie

This morning I went to sign my dogs up for welfare. At first the lady said,
"Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare." So I explained to her that my dogs
are mixed in color, unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and have no frigging
clue who their Daddy's are. They expect me to feed them, provide them with
housing and medical care. So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes
to qualify.
My dogs get their first checks Friday.
Dang, this is a great country!

Eye Catching Jaw Dropping Fluffy Thing with Glass may not be Fluffy or even a puppy, but it has taking shape of a tropical ocean beach with waves, palm trees, and two birds.  I need to glue each piece of glass one at a time.  Am I ready for this?  Hell NO!  I wanted to keep the painting on the glass beneath the glass because somehow it just isn't meant to be covered up.  The kids I bought the table top from painted it and used it as a coffee table.  I had the dogs chew the legs off and I will somehow hang this on my wall of fame when completed unless anyone out there wants to buy it...say...$700.00 maybe?

Animal welfare group to open Redding Pet Thrift Store~

A Redding animal welfare group is opening a storefront to help support its rescue efforts and introduce dogs for adoption.  "We're a boutique-thrift store," said Janie Hopper, president of the nonprofit ResQ Animal Coalition. Pawz for a Cause will celebrate its grand opening Saturday.  In what Hopper describes as "just a hodgepodge," the store will offer gently used children's clothing, silk flower arrangements and the requisite canine paraphernalia — including handcrafted dog collars, bone-shaped place mats and doggy sweaters.
"We want to make it fun and light, and support responsible dog ownership, and give some of these little homeless critters a permanent home," she said. ResQ specializes in small dogs that are sheltered in a network of foster homes pending adoption.  Saturday's event will feature snacks and fiddle music. Visitors also can sample a slice of a dog-shaped cake.  All proceeds from Pawz will go to support ResQ, which Hopper says already has spent more than $15,000 this year on medical care for its critters. It's also looking toward the future.  "If we can get enough people on board we plan on having a shelter in five years," she said. "That's our goal."  Having a central location has another benefit, said Barbara Dykstra, who serves on ResQ's board.  "It will help us get more dogs for people to see in a safe, quiet place," she said.  Pawz, which will be open 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, will be staffed entirely by volunteers.  "We really appreciate all the support we're getting from the community and people who love dogs," Dykstra said. "And the dogs do, too."  If you go  Who: ResQ Animal Coalition  What: Pawz for a Cause opening celebration  When: 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday  Where: 2940 Churn Creek Road, Enterprise Center in Redding  Contact: For more information, call 276-9364 or visit

Is my Human Going Through Mid Life Paw-ness?

Here is a pic of my new shoes. happy!

September 24, 2011

Okay so my human was having a yard sale today.  I was laying in my nice green cool lawn at my Guard Station and low and behold, this cute little version of my human walked up to me.  Her name was "Daisy" and she proceeded to tell my human that these boots were the newest fashion and cost well over $100.00 (not sure how many biscuits that would be for me) and she didn't have that kind of money so one day she went to a boutique in Chico, CA and saw a pair (she is wearing them here) for only $19.00.  Curious as to the cheap price she asked the sales clerk why such a low amount.  The clerk said, because one boot is a size 8 and the other boot is a size 9.  Needless to say, Daisy bought them and if she hadn't of told my human, and if I wasn't eaves dropping we would have never guessed the sizes were different.

I instantly fell in love with her tennis shoes that were made into boots.  Now if you people can do that for humans, it's only fair to make some for our little paws....please?  My human would love a pair size 8 1/2 but has no idea where to buy these boots or what they are called.  She searched the internet and found nothing.  I would like them too in Black and Pink if that's alright with you.  wOOf...wOOf...~Eddie

Pricked my Paw and it hurts so bad~

Ouch...wOOf...wOOf...Grrrr...I was pawing with some of my human's stained glass this morning and decided, being the obedient faithful fluffy pup that I am, would help her grout some stained glass mosaic stepping stones.  All I can say is I should keep my paw's out of things while sniffing around.  My ouch is similar to what you human's would call a "paper cut".  Oh I wined like a baby only cuz it scared me when  human owner growled at me for getting in her way.  I learned my lesson as I will just lay on my comfy fluffy lounge bed and watch her with her stained glass addiction.  Here are a few stones she finished today.  wOOf...wOOf...Eddie~

Ah, The Smell of Fresh Grout...

I'm not sure about any of you, but grouting a stepping stone has got to be the biggest pain in the ass part for me when making a mosaic stepping stone.  However, the fresh smell of grout infiltrates the space around me and I love the smell.  Call me crazy (been there and still am), but it somehow takes me back the my kindergarten days when I would eat the paste we used in arts and crafts.  It's amazing how smells can take us back in time to wonderful memories.  I raise my bottle of Welbond glue and toast to "Smells".  I know, I am an oddball and I love myself for it and wouldn't change a thing.

Here is the newest addition custom created for a very nice kindred soul and her dog whom I have met on the River trail.  Our dogs are madly in love with eachother.  I used some of her old china she had from her grandmother along with other sentimental items she had.

My Dog Owns Me and I Can't Cut the Umbilical cord!~

Okay so it's way too obvious that I love dogs!  Their cute lil tails waggin' against the wall making a sound like a construction zone, if there were termites in the walls they would have been shaken off...running to hide from the sounds of rumble.  When you come home from a hot and hectic day, their they sit waiting for you by the washing machine...a sign to intruders, "Warning, my human's aren't home, I will harm you!"  Your eating dinner and there they sit so regal like with sad eyes saying, "I am begging, feed me a table scrap please oh please!"  Your are on your computer, it's quiet and your in deep concentration...and then you hear the puff...your dog looks at it's butt and then at you...wondering where did that sound and smell come from...he leaves the room looking at you while thinking, "I didn't do that!"
We go to great lengths to pamper our owners, a fluffy designer bed in every room (I bought all my beds through RustiesGrannys Beds), always a fresh bowl of water in every nook and cranny of the house as well as outside and on those hot days...they get ICE in their water bowls.  Who doesn't have endless varieties of doggy treats in the kitchen?  Every flavor imagined and you all would be lying if you said you haven't tried the beefy bacon one.  Yes, I thought it smelled wonderful so I took a nibble.   Okay, well it smelt good, but that was the end of that.  Cardboard is not my texture to the tongue palette!  If they like it, then that's all that matters.
I don't have human babies nor will I ever as age is now a factor for me, but I have a fluffy cutie patootie that has me wrapped around his paws.  I don't know what I would do without him, he is my companion, my best friend, my pal, and my advisor on all things cute and fluffy!.  He never complains about my weight, my bad habits, he gives me tons of affection without asking and he shows appreciation for all that I do.  "Eddie" is his name, or one of them at least...aka "Pumpkin Butt", "Doodle Bug", "Doodles" just to name a few.  Health wise, he lowers my blood pressure, he inspires me to make dog art, he lessens my depression because I know he is around.  For an old single gal like me alone in this world, it matters!
So I dedicate this post to all animals of all fluffy types, without you in our just wouldn't be life at all!  Oh one last thing, can you all buy my stepping stones so I can buy myself a new bed, he likes mine better and his bed is hard on my back.  Thanks so much!

My FIRST attempt USING Stain GLASS on MY Stepping STONES~

Here I am attempting to make a mosaic stepping stone out of stain glass that I hand cut.  I still need to transfer the glass to glue on a red stepping stone, then grout it and then put sealer on it.  It took me 3 hours to just design and arrange the tile.  It was 100' in the garage and thank God I had my little fan blowing right in my face.  Jumped in the pool every 15 minutes.

I now know why folks charge so much for a mosaic stain glass stepping stone.  It's a lot of freakin' work more so than the ceramic stones I make.  Okay enough chit chat, time to get back out in the garage and finish.  Wishing everyone a great day!

Using Stain Glass on my Mosaic Stepping Stone~

Hi all,  I decided to jump into the unknown and use these pieces of glass and make a creative design on a stone to see if I like that kind of medium.  I also have 12 x 12 colored glass sheets I need to cut up to use as well.  Gonna jump in and see what happens.  Wish me luck!

BOMBSHELL TONIGHT! Three Mary Engelbreit Mosaic stones done!

Just so ya'all know, making Mosaic stepping stones comes with a price.  For example:  please take caution when movin' the pavers around, knee injuries can happen especially when you are doing the balancing act while grouting!  Yes, I now have an ice pack on my right knee....damn is the nicest word I could find.  The other tidbit of advice is PLEASE DON'T USE A MAGIC ERASER on your skin to scrub paint, grout, or anything else that matters.  I got the paint & grout off alright, but donated some skin too!  I am normally not that stupid, but who would have thought they actually work on skin too???
