Breaking News: WWII Bombardier Hero passes daddy is now in Heaven~

Captain Einar Henry “Hal” Hallstrom, 94 endured Cancer/Parkinson’s for the past 3 years; passed away on September 4th, 2013 at home with family by his side in Redding, CA.

His loving wife Patsy Lee who passed June 7th, 2008 of Breast Cancer precedes Hal in death.

Hal is survived by his son Bill (Sheryl), daughter Kym (Tom), twin daughters Stace (Rodney) and Traci (Paul), five grandchildren Colter, Jacob, Amanda, Jered, Heather and three great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Hal was born in Sacramento California, spending his childhood with his parents and 9 siblings working on the family farm and then joined the US Army Air Corp as a B-17 Bombardier and fought in WWII.  Hal shot and sunk every Japanese Submarine in the Battle of the Bismarck Sea in the South West Pacific in March 1943.  Hal has been featured in several history books and a documentary was made of him. 

Hal and Patsy were married in Reno, NV after the war and moved to Redding where Hal became General Manager of McKesson Wine & Spirits. His passion was playing Golf everyday and restoring old homes.

Outside Services will be held at the Northern California Veteran’s Cemetery in Igo on Friday, September 20th, 2013 at 9:30am sharp.
